Blankdays zip hoodies are built around 380 gsm organic cotton the same heavyweight construction you'll find in our most popular styles. A full-zip hoodie does what a pullover can't: it layers with everything, moves with you from cold mornings to warmer afternoons, and stays on the right side of casual and considered at the same time.
The zip is heavy gauge and runs smooth. The hood is structured enough to stay in place, relaxed enough to not look try-hard. Ribbed cuffs and hem keep their shape wash after wash. There are no shortcuts in the construction this is a hoodie built to go the distance.
A relaxed, slightly oversized cut gives you room to move and room to layer over a tee or under a coat. Sizes run true. If you're between sizes, we'd suggest going up.

Most hoodies on the market are made in cotton blends, polycotton, or cheaper ringspun constructions that pill, shrink, and soften into nothing after a year. We use 380gsm GOTS-certified organic cotton throughout.
That extra weight is intentional. It drapes differently. It ages better. It doesn't cling. Over time, organic cotton develops a worn-in quality that synthetic blends never quite achieve a softness that feels earned rather than manufactured.

Neither is better they serve different purposes. A zip hoodie gives you more temperature control, layers more easily over structured pieces, and works better as an outer layer when you don't need a coat. A pullover hoodies is a simpler silhouette and slightly cleaner at the front. We'd suggest having one of each.
How does the Blankdays zip hoodie fit?
Relaxed and slightly oversized. The shoulder seam drops a little, the body has room, and the fit isn't meant to be close or tailored. If you're between sizes, go up. If you want a closer fit for layering, go down.
Does 380gsm cotton shrink after washing?
All cotton shrinks slightly in the first wash. Our hoodies are pre-washed during production to minimise this. Wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle and reshape while damp to maintain the fit. Avoid the tumble dryer if you can line drying keeps the cotton in better condition for longer.
Can I wear a zip hoodie as outerwear?
Yes. The 380gsm weight and structured construction mean the Blankdays zip hoodie works as an outer layer in mild weather. It won't replace a coat in winter, but for spring and autumn or indoor-outdoor days it's a practical, low-maintenance outer layer. Wear it open over a shirt or closed over a base layer.
